If I had a boat

Friday was my birthday.  My Mom always made it THE most special day of the year and it usually lasted the whole month. I'm blessed to have had so many great birthday adventures.  Now that I'm a mom, the wonder of birthdays seems to have transfered.  I really don't care that much about my big day, I'd rather make theirs special.  The biggest birthday dream I have left is just to go sit on a boat in the water and look back at Chicago.

Why?  It's a circle, really.  I have always adored Lyle Lovett's song, "If I had a boat," becasue it pretty much sums up my childhood and it makes me think of my bestest horse, Sugar.  I went everywhere with her man.  And it would be nice to sit back and look at where God has taken me to since I was little and sat upon my horse dreaming of adventure.

The song starts out,
If I had a boat
I'd go out on the ocean
And if I had a pony
I'd ride him on my boat
And we could all together
Go out on the ocean
Me upon my pony on my boat

Ah.  Me, my horse, on the water.  Yummy!!  But then again - I woke up to smiling hubby and happy babies who look at one another with love in their eyes. Life really couldn't be better.  Need to get them on that boat too!  Someday we can all together go out on the ocean, me, my husband, my sons, my pony and me.  And only time will tell what adventure we'll sail to next.

PS:  It's a great song:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B-_W18CWypE

Making raspberry bars

It's Saturday and that means dessert day.  Sebastian helped me make raspberry bars, while Cristian looked on.  Looking back I'm pretty sure my mom didn't make anything from a box.  But I'm proud to say that after a few elbow dips into the raspberry sauce, and untold number of taste tests, we actually completed our dessert and it was yummy!

Our little angels

This pretty much sums it up.

Welcome to our blog!

Cristian
We're only a few years behind the times, but the past 36 months have been activity-packed!  We got married, bought and began renovatting our house, and somewhere in there managed to have two amazing sons.

Now it's time to start doing a better job of communicating!  Hope you enjoy the blog.  We'll do our best to keep it updated in between feedings and hugs.
